Staverton Vineyard

STAVERTON is the name of the family who were lords of the manor in the fourteenth century.

The Sheepshanks family bought Rookery Farm in 1925, and the present generation has farmed it since 1952, the first trial area planted to grapes in 1973.

The Vineyard now extends to some 1.3 acres planted on sheltered south facing slopes and trained by the Guyot method.

Staverton Wine is made by a local winery of first-class reputation.
